INDIANA MEMBERS CREDIT UNION CELEBRATES SUCCESSFUL FUNDRAISING FASHION SHOW
“STYLIN’ FOR SUCCESS” FASHION SHOW RAISES $14,000
(Indianapolis, IN, March, 2010) Indiana Members Credit Union (IMCU), hosted the first inaugural “Stylin’ For Success” Fashion Show at Conseco Fieldhouse, Downtown, on Saturday, February 27, 2010. Over 200 people attended the sold out event, which included dinner, a fashion show with styles and clothing provided by Dressbarn, raffle items and a ticket to the Indiana Pacers game that evening. The event raised over $14,000 which will be used to purchase and provide school uniforms to 510 underprivileged school children at IPS School #43. The uniforms will be distributed to students the week prior to the first day of school in August of 2010.
Highlights of the day included a surprise celebrity guest appearance by current Indiana Pacers Player, Josh McRoberts, who addressed the crowd, along with two current Indiana Pacemates. During the event, IMCU employees modeled clothing and accessories by Dressbarn and styled hair and makeup by Salon01. IMCU also welcomed local FOX 59 MORNING NEWS Team Feature Reporter, Sherman Burdette, and former School #43 student, who participated as the emcee for the event. “Words can not express the gratitude I feel toward our organization and its employees and members, as well as the community and businesses, for all of the support we have received for this great cause. As a local community organization, we feel it’s our duty to give back. Supporting the education system is something IMCU is passionate about, especially since we were founded on the Campus of IUPUI,” said Ron Collier, CEO of IMCU. “By providing these children with school uniforms, we are able to assist them with the tools they need to be successful. We feel that’s the least we can do.”
IMCU would like to thank the event sponsors, FOX59, WIBC 93.1FM, Acheivent, Duke Realty Corporation, Enterprise Car Sales and University of Indianapolis, as well as clothing and hair and makeup providers Dressbarn and Salon01. IMCU is still collecting donations for this cause, please visit www.imcu.org for more information.
